Stereotypes
Media
institutions use stereotypes because the audience will instantly understand
them. Think of stereotypes as a ‘visual shortcut’. They are repeated so often
that we assume that they are in fact true.

The media
are always partying roles as stereotypes giving people the fixed interpretation
of what a single person or a group of people are like. These can be for all
different groups and kinds of people, from black youths, to homosexuals and
this image is set in peoples minds.
